According to the Telegraph, the future of Kalvin Phillips is set to be decided next week with Manchester City currently fielding interest from at least six clubs, including Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Phillips has struggled for any sort of regular football during his time in Manchester and is seemingly looking to move on in search of more game time before Euro 2024.
The current favourites to sign Kalvin Phillips can be seen below:
Where will Kalvin Phillips end up?
Despite the interest of two of Spain’s biggest clubs, the Telegraph claim English clubs such as Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Newcastle United are not out of the race to sign the midfielder.
It is added that Newcastle and Juventus had been at the front of the queue of clubs trying to take Phillips on an initial loan until the end of the season, but the pair have delayed making a firm move which has allowed other sides to show interest.
Newcastle are, of course, without Sandro Tonalli for the remainder of 2023/24 so signing Phillips on loan would fill that void.
However, given Pep Guardiola has used Phillips sparingly since his move from Leeds, Manchester City may wish to sell him outright and use the funds to strengthen other areas of the pitch now they have Rodri, Matteo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes to play in the centre of midfield.
