Tournament favourite Mark Selby potted two consecutive century breaks against Mark King to set up a semi-final clash with Ali Carter at the Shanghai Stage.

Londoner King was unable to take the few chances to come his way and world number eight Selby had little difficulty escaping King’s safety play to secure the win.
Selby had made the fourth frame safe with a 32 break to take a 3-1 lead before finishing the match in a flurry with breaks of 106 in the fifth and 105 in the sixth to complete a comfortable 5-1 win.
Selby is available at odds of 4/7 with Stan James to win this afternoon’s semi-final.
Ali Carter fought back from 1-4 against Matthew Stevens for the right contest a place in Sunday’s final.
Carter’s chances looked bleak when Stevens 87 break left him one frame from victory, but Carter responded with a 103 to keep him in the game.
Stevens was made to suffer missed chances in the seventh and eighth frames and in the deciding frame he left a tricky black when unable to clear the colours for another chance to clinch the victory.
Carter stepped up to bravely drill a long shot along the cushion and into a baulk pocket to seal an unlikely win.
Carter is available at odds of 13/8 with Betfred to win this afternoon’s semi-final.
