The US Presidential Election 2024 is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 05 November 2024, with current betting and polls suggesting a re-run of 2020 between Joe Biden (Democrat) and Donald Trump (Republican).

In a political system dominated by just two parties, it’s a straight fight between the more liberal Democrats and the conservative Republicans.

Although President Biden is now 80, he is still seen as the presumptive Democratic nominee. Dean Phillips, Marianne Williamson and Cenk Uygur have thrown their hats into the ring as things stand, but none look remotely viable candidates at this stage.

Democratic Candidate Betting Odds

If anyone is to launch a genuine challenge to Biden, or if it’s ultimately decided that the potential health issues awaiting an octogenarian facing another four-year term are too much to risk, then Gavin Newsom could definitely come into the reckoning.

At present, Joe Biden is best odds of 2/5 (1.40) on the Betfair betting exchange to be the Democratic nominee, with Newsom at 15/2 with Paddy Power. Michelle Obama would be a hugely popular choice, but although she has given no indication of standing, she can still be backed at 14/1 with Unibet.

Republican Candidate Betting Odds

The Republican field is a little more congested, with Trump currently facing challenges from Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy and Chris Christie – all familiar names in the US.

The problem for the four other contenders is that whatever the incendiary language and rhetoric of the 77-year-old Trump during his re-election campaign, the core of the Republican party supporters never seems to shift their loyalty away from Trump and his “MAGA” campaign.

The betting to be the Republican candidate strongly reflects this, with Trump on offer at odds of just 1/4 with Betfair, with Haley at 6/1 with Unibet and DeSantis at 22/1 also at Betfair.

The biggest issue facing Trump as Republican and, arguably, also Presidential candidate is his indictment on election subversion charges. Trump’s team have been desperately attempting to delay his trial to ensure that he is able to contest the elections in 2024, and it would currently appear as though their tactics are working.

US 2024 Presidential Election Betting Odds

The betting to win the US 2024 Presidential Election is very much a two-horse race according to the bookies, with Trump on offer at odds of 7/5 and Biden at 9/4 (as of 6th January 2024).

If you prefer to avoid risking any possible issues surrounding Biden’s age and health, or Trump’s legal problems or the possibility of him finally doing or saying something that actually costs him his core support, then a punt on which party will win the US 2024 Presidential Election is the safer option. Here you will find the Republican party the marginal favourites at 10/11 (1.91) with Betway, with the Democrats available at 21/20 (2.05) with bet365.
