Staggering Liverpool record highlighted ahead of Union SG game

Liverpool dominate

As is to be expected, Liverpool are heavy favourites to top Group E, with odds of 1/14 to do so with bet365. And ahead of their next outing, some rather impressive statistics have come to light.

Liverpool have won 15 of their last 21 Europa League home matches and have won each of their last seven group-stage games in the competition. They have also lost only one of their previous 15 meetings with Belgian teams, which was a 3-1 defeat to Anderlecht in the 1978 European Super Cup.

On a less positive note, the Merseysiders look set to be without Cody Gakpo on Thursday after he was injured vs Tottenham. Speaking on Gakpo’s issue, Jurgen Klopp said: “[It was] the biggest problem of the game, to be honest... before Cody scored, we got a free-kick and he got injured and he is now with a brace limping down the corridor.

“That’s my biggest problem, to be honest, in this moment. We lost two [to red cards] and maybe a third player — really bad, really bad. So, yes, that’s something we have to deal with obviously.”

With Gakpo likely out vs Union SG, Darwin Nunez is expected to lead the line for the Reds. The South American is 4/5 to score anytime with bet365.
