Latest Tottenham injury worry

Ahead of facing Aston Villa, Tottenham have been dealt a fresh injury scare.

Cristian Romero is currently suspended after being shown a straight red card vs Chelsea last week, while Destiny Udogie pulled out of the Italy squad due to a muscle injury and both Micky van de Ven and James Maddison are not expected to play again before the New Year.

Elsewhere, Richarlison, Ryan Sessegnon and Manor Solomon are all recovering from surgery and Ivan Perisic is unlikely to feature at all this season.

This leaves Tottenham with a very small squad ahead of facing Aston Villa, and fresh news from the Italy camp may make it even smaller come next week.

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario could be ruled out of Italy’s Euro 2024 qualifier against North Macedonia on Friday night. The Italian FA confirmed Vicario was suffering from ‘flu symptoms’ and that Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi has been called up as cover.

The Lilywhites will be praying Vicario is fit enough to feature in their clash with Villa on November 26.
