Heung-min Son injury scare

Ahead of facing Aston Villa, Tottenham have been handed a scare on Heung-min Son front.

The Tottenham star scored a stunning goal as South Korea cruised to a 5-0 win over Singapore to begin their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign in style.

However, there was an injury scare for the 31-year-old in the closing stages. Son received treatment after going down and then limped to the sidelines, holding his right ankle before returning to the action for the final ten minutes.

Son has since come out to downplay any injury fears in a massive relief to Tottenham:

“We are making a team for the World Cup, I can’t give up a game just because I feel pain,” he told reporters. If I can’t run anymore, then I can’t do anything about it but when I can run, I have to give 100% for the team.

“I am fine now, I don’t like to lie down [on the pitch] in the winter. At that moment [when he went down] I couldn’t feel anything on my foot. I’m fine, no injury.”
