The dust has finally settled on an astonishing transfer window and we’re now five games down to business in the Premier League. The two Manchester clubs have started phenomenally and league champions Chelsea aren’t far behind.

But with a record breaking transfer total spent, all eyes are on the players. But which club are getting the most of their money so far?

We take a look at the biggest transfers of the summer and how they’ve fared in the opening month of the season.

Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku was tipped to be the signing of the season ahead of the new campaign and he’s certainly putting his name in the hat for it. It’s five goals in five games for the Belgian and he’s proving to be the final piece of the jigsaw for Mourinho’s men.

Not only is he proving vital in front of goal, he’s forming a formidable partnership with young guns Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, not to mention his good friend Paul Pogba.

Even at £75million, Lukaku is looking an absolute steal.

Alvaro Morata

Cost: £60m

Mins Per Goal: 122

It was almost Old Trafford for Morata this summer and after a confusing summer for the Spaniard, he finally made his way to Stamford Bridge and he’s proved a great replacement for Diego Costa.

Three goals so far means he’s striking every 122 minutes and with a few assists on the board he’s proving a solid team player.

He’s still bedding in with The Blues, but by the end of the season we’d expect a similar tally to Costa, along with assists and much more of a contribution aerially.

Benjamin Mendy

After missing the first two games of the season through injury, Benjamin Mendy has hit the ground running and his last two games has seen him impress both at the back and going forward.

He picked up an assist in City’s 5-0 thumping of Liverpool and was influential in their 6-0 demolition of Watford. At 23 he’s going to be the future of Manchester City at left back, and he’s already showing why he’ll be a mainstay.

Alexandre Lacazette

[tweet5 shortcode=”tweet4″]

Cost: £46.5m

Mins Per Goal: 169

It would take more than a £46.5m Frenchman to solve Arsenal’s worries, and it’s not exactly been a dream start Lacazette.

Although it’s been a solid one, bagging two, including on his Premier League debut. He was dropped against Arsenal however and hasn’t completed 90 minutes since that opening night win against Leicester.

It’ll be interesting to see how his Arsenal career develops across the rest of the season, but it’s not been as rosy a start as Lukaku and Morata.

Kyle Walker

Kyle Walker at Manchester City is doing exactly what Kyle Walker at Tottenham Hotspur did; provide a huge attacking threat down the right hand side.

He had a tough start with a sending off in their draw against Everton, but since his return from suspension he’s been instrumental along with Mendy in their free-flowing wins against Liverpool and Watford.

He’s picked up two assists in his last two and is showing exactly why Pep Guardiola spent such a large sum of money on him. The Manchester City full back positions look like they might be sewn up for years to come.
