United Kingdom Cut Into 10/1 From 14/1 For 2023 Eurovision Song Contest Victory

The United Kingdom has attracted early support to be crowned next year’s Eurovision Song Contest winners after it was confirmed the country is to host the 2023 event.

This year’s runners-up were given the nod to step in after the European Broadcasting Union confirmed that 2022 winners Ukraine would not be able to host the event on safety grounds.

Birmingham initially became the favourite to host the famous singing competition in 2023 and was cut into 6/5 from 8/1 within 24 hours of the change of host country was made. However, an avalanche of money since now sees Glasgow rated 6/4 favourites with Betfair Sportsbook.

The betting company has also slashed the odds on Belfast staging the contest next May. The Northern Irish capital is now quoted at 11/2. Resultantly, Birmingham is now out to 5/2. Liverpool (7/1) and Newcastle (12/1) follow.

The announcement that Eurovision 2023 will be coming to the UK has seen some punters seize on a potential ‘home advantage’. 14/1 about a UK victory was available a week ago, four points have since been clipped off of that price.
