Rafa And Ferrer Go Loco In Acapulco

Rafa Nadal and David Ferrer headline the Rio Open which follows quickly on the back of the Rio Carnaval which took place on Sunday. It’s the first chance the two players have had to experience the Carnaval and they are hoping it will inspire equally unforgettable performances in the mens singles.

Four time champion and hometown boy Kevin Anderson heads the betting for the Delray Beach Open and could be a good bet to lift the title for fifth time in the absence of Marin Cilic who defeated him in the final last year. John Isner and Ivo Karlovic have good records in Vegas while Steve Johnson made a breakthrough in Delray Beach when reaching the semi-final last year.

WTA Stars Hit Road To Singapore

Seven of the world’s top ten players descend on Dubai for the Duty Free Tennis Championship which is one of the biggest stepping stones on the Road To Singapore.

Simona Halep, Petra Kvitova, Caroline Wozniacki, Ana Ivanovic, Agnieszka Radwanska, Ekaterina Makarova and Angelique Kerber will all be hoping to pick up valuable points along with 8th seed Venus Williams, the only one in the list outside the top 10. The tournament ranks behind the Grand Slams, WTA Finals and Premier Mandatories and the $2.5+ million purse ensures a thrilling event.

The womens singles at the Rio Open will miss out on the biggest names but world number 5 Sara Errani has decided to head down to Rio for the start of the Latin American swing and will face opposition from Irina-Camelia Begu, Roberta Vinci and Madison Brengle. It’s been two years since Errani has won a WTA trophy in the singles and she’ll be hoping this could be her week on her favoured clay court surface.
