The rescheduled 2022 Mercury Awards Show will take place on Tuesday 18th October at the Apollo in Hammersmith. The awards show was originally planned for 8th September but was postponed due to the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
Twelve acts have made the shortlist for £25,000 prize.
Wet Leg have been vying for favouritism with their self-titled debut album for the past few weeks. The British indie rock duo of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers are best priced 9/2 with Coral to land the big prize after their debut single ‘Chaise Longue’ quickly racked up three million streams last year.

Self Esteem can be backed at 9/2 with BetVictor for example but bet365 go just 3/1. Gwenno is the fourth favorite - 8/1 at bet365, but the 41-year-old Welsh musician can be backed at 12/1 elsewhere.
BBC Music, the Prize’s broadcast partner, will cover the event live on television, radio, the internet, and social media.

Liverpool Revealed as Eurovision’s Host City for 2023
Meanwhile, in another music specials betting market – the host city for the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest – William Hill were convinced that Glasgow would prevail. The Scottish city was available at just even-money with the firm back in August. But frenetic activity in the following weeks had seen it cut even further into 2/5, then 2/7, finally settling at a prohibitive 1/5.
Birmingham – 7/4 favorites with the firm in mid-August – were pushed out to 7/1+. That is one point shorter than Manchester. It was then 14/1 bar; incorporating Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield.
Following the announcement on the One Show last Friday we now know that Hills got it all wrong and it was one of the underdogs Liverpool who prevailed and will host the 2023 Eurovision event.
