World Cup 2010 Boost For Dutch As Robben Declared Fit
Holland’s World Cup 2010 chances were given a lift today when the physiotherapist treating Arjen Robben told a German newspaper that Robben will be fit to play in the opening game against Denmark on Monday June 14th .
The 26 year old Dutch winger injured his hamstring in Holland’s final warm up game and remained behind when the rest of the Dutch team flew to South Africa to recieve intensive treatment .
Holland won all of their qualifying games and have been very impressive in recent friendlies culminating in a 6-1 thrashing of Hungary last week .
Their recent impressive form has led to bookmakers reacting by cutting the odds on Holland to win the 2010 World Cup from 14/1 a few weeks ago to a best priced 9/1 currently .
The Dutch appear to have a straightforward task in Group E and it would be a major suprise if they did not perform strongly in this year’s tournament .
Holland are best price at 4/7 to win Group E with Ladbrokes in which the opposition is headed by Cameroon ranked 19 in the world rankings , Denmark ranked 36 and Japan ranked 45 make up the group.
Robben is a prolific scorer for his country scoring 13 times in 47 appearances . Robben can be backed at 9/2 with William Hill to be his team top scorer at th World Cup .
