World Cup 2010: Swiss Coach Hiztfeld Makes Chile Favourite For Group H Game
Swiss coach, Ottmar Hitzfeld, said Chile are favourites for their Group H clash with Switzerland in Port Elizabeth tomorrow. Bookmakers agree with the 61 year old German; Boylesports offering odds of 11/8 for Chile to win the game.
"Switzerland are not favourites, it will be Chile," said Hitzfeld. "This team really impressed me. Firstly in qualifying. Not many teams end up finishing above Argentina. Against Honduras, the Chileans were unbelievable and they could have 3-0 or 4-0 instead of 1-0."
Switzerland are just over an hour away from setting a new record without conceding a goal. At 484 minutes, they need to hang on for another 67 to beat Italy’s record of 550.
They must achieve it without the help of central defender Phillipe Senderos who suffered suspected ankle ligament damage in the 1-0 shock against Spain.
The Swiss posed a real threat on the counter attack and with 40 goal striker, Alexander Frei available, now have more attacking options.
Don’t expect Chile to change their non stop attacking style of football. Goalkeeper, Luis Martin said: “We’re not going to change our style of play because we’re taking on Switzerland. We always play the same way, as we showed against Honduras,”.
La Roja will look to make more of their chances with the return of prolific front-man Humberto Suazo, who top scored with ten goals in South American Zone qualifying.
Having missed the game against Honduras with a muscle strain, Suazo returns against the Swiss with Bet365 offering odds of 2/1 for him to score at anytime during the game.
