Portsmouth to beat Crewe & over 2.5 goals

Portsmouth are beginning to drag themselves into the playoff race, and while it’s a tough ask, they are in form and trying. The past few games have all been about goals, as well as winning, which is where we are going with with wager.

To start with, their form, Pompey have won five and drawn one in their last six games. The goals angle is a simple one, in every one of those six games, there have been three goals or more, with four or more coming in four of them. It’s entertaining down at Fratton Park right now, and we fancy that to continue.

Crewe are bottom, need points and have to attack themselves, which will help the goals side of this bet. Sadly, they don’t have the quality to get involved, as we’ve seen recently when they have lost eight out of their last nine games.

MK Dons to beat Cheltenham

Chasing automatic promotion, MK Dons should be buzzing after a great away win against Rotherham on Saturday, now they need to back that up at home to Cheltenham. They’ve won four on the bounce, including away wins at promotion chasing Rotherham and Sunderland.

Cheltenham picked up a win on Saturday, beating struggling Doncaster, but lost to bottom club Crewe before that, and had two draws ahead of that one. This is a team that MK Dons should fancy their chances of beating, and if they want to take one of the two automatic promotion slots, they simply have to win.

We think they will, MK Dons are the second pick in our acca.

Bolton -1 v Morecambe

We round things off with Bolton, at home to Morecambe and looking to build on a great 3-0 away win against Gillingham. At home, Bolton are even better, they have won their last six home games, scoring 19 goals in those and conceding just two. If they are to make a last ditch attempt at the playoffs, continuing that home form is a must.

Morecambe are now eight games without a win, and in desperate need of points. Away at home, it’s worse, they’ve not won any of their last eight away league games, you have to go back to November for their last win away from home.

Put all that together, and we think this will be a comfortable night for Bolton, so we are backing them on the -1 handicap line.
