Dolatulo was a course and distance winner last March with Jason Maguire in the saddle, but odds of 6/5 make limited appeal and it may be worth taking a chance on the jockey's ride for today.
Maguire partners top trainer Donald McCain who is experienced in both codes of racing having tasted success at the highest level over jumps and on the flat. He saddles Any Given Day who makes his return after eight months off and looks a good bet at the stand out best odds of 5/2 with Sportingbet and 888Sport.
The selection is a useful hurdler who won at the first attempt over fences and is no stranger to racing on the flat having won at Salisbury, Folkestone and Ascot in the summer of 2008. Dig a little deeper and you'll find the nine-year-old has won an All-Weather race at Kempton, so shouldn't mind the conditions underfoot today.
Any Given Day will race under the colours of another versatile horse trained by Donald McCain, but while the selection lacks the class of Overturn, one can expect a smooth transition back to flat racing under this trainer and a win in this company is well within his capability.
Any Given Day - 5/2 (Sportingbet, 888Sport)
