David O’Meara’s veteran Toto Skyllachy can land a treble in the Swan Industrial Drives Handicap at 3.50 Beverley today.
The nine-year-old made an encouraging comeback when third over seven furlongs at Musselburgh 17 days ago and makes a return over his favourite course and distance where the gelding bids for a third consecutive success in the race. Toto Skyllachy is something of a specialist at Beverley where he logged four of his nine career wins with an impressive 44% strike rate at the East Ridings course.
O’Meara’s charge is re-united with jockey Daniel Tudhope who formed a successful partnership with his mount in his two previous victories in this race and will run off the same mark as when comfortable four-and-a-half length winners 12 months ago.
Toto Skyllachy looks set to go off favourite after overnight support and is available this morning at 3/1 with Ladbrokes. The main danger appears to be Dubai Dynamo who should be winning soon off a fair mark and benefits from a strong pace. Mark Johnson saddles King Of The Danes and would have claims based on his winning form last year. He was a given an easy ride once beaten on his reappearance at Ripon 18 days ago and it could pay to watch the market for this one.
