Coillte Cailin can get the better of warm favourite Kalahari in the New Racing UK Anywhere Available Now Handicap at 5.15 Nottingham today.
Kalahari has a bit to prove from a wide draw returning from over a year off the track and makes little appeal at odds of 4/1 on the basis of his three efforts in France, despite turning out for a new yard today. Coillte Cailin has ran admirably in defeat of late and at a top price of 7/1 with Betway for the extended 1 mile 2 furlong test is taken to get a head in front today.
The mount of Stephen Craine was a neck shy of success over 1 mile 1 furlong on the All-Weather surface at Wolverhampton in February and made an encouraging step up to today's distance when third at Haydock Park just over a week ago. Coillte Cailin has ran consistently in her seven runs to date, finding only one too good on two occasions and was unlucky to meet Lord Franklin who took advantage of a falling mark at Haydock, while runner-up Hussar Ballad had won his previous start.
The selection is up 2lb for that effort, but looks to have a serious chance today if acting well on soft ground and is nicely drawn in stall 5, so expect the filly to be in the frame at least.
