John Gosden goes double handed in the Ebf Stallions Breeding Winners Margadale Fillies' Handicap at 3.55 Salisbury and his first string Seagull should take all the beating.
Tipped at odds of 5/2 with William Hill on our Twitter feed this morning, the Sea The Stars filly has been well supported and is now no bigger than 9/4 with the same firm and Ladbrokes. His other runner Likelihood has shown slow progress this term and the fact that jockey William Buick has opted to ride Seagull looks significant.
Seagull was well held on her debut at Nottingham in April, but quickly got the hang of things by winning on her only other start in a Newmarket maiden last month. The 3-year-old's 3 length winning margin that day left a lasting impression and open to further progress, there is every chance the handicapper may have been lenient giving her an opening mark of 82.
Elsewhere in the field, course and distance winner Hidden Gold is feared most after comfortably scoring in a hood on her debut here last month. The pair have similar profile in that they are lightly raced, but Seagull was that bit more impressive last time out and drops back in trip today, so is tipped to make it back-to-back victories.
