With Royal Ascot just a few days away now quality Flat racing is thin on the ground especially midweek when the majority of the current action centres around Class 4, 5 and 6 contests, but there is one exception on Newbury's Thursday card in the shape of the Listed Lord Weinstock Memorial Stakes ( Registered As The Ballymacoll Stud Stakes ) at 3.25 in which 10 potentially decent 3-year-old fillies are set to go to post for the 1m 2f event worth over £20k to the winner.

The 99-rated Eastern Belle has the best form on offer as the daughter of Champs Elysees found only Marsh Daisy too good in Goodwood's Oaks trial, the Height Of Fashion Stakes, although the winner failed to make any impact at Epsom last weekend and with the ground almost certain to be on the firm side of good ( soft at Goodwood ) the mount of William Buick could be worth taking on at the Berkshire track. The Luca Cumani-trained Jordan Princess was sent off the 5-2 joint favourite in the Goodwood race but trailed home in last place, a run which can possibly be put down to the underfoot conditions, and on better ground the mount of Andrea Atzeni, who chased home impressive Oaks winner Taghrooda on her first run of the season, is expected to put up a much better show this time.

Pontefract winner Latenightrequest and the William Haggas-trained Queen Of Ice appeared to have their limitations exposed in York's Musidora Stakes, a remark which may also apply to another five runners in Belle De Lawyers, Groovejet, Mutatis Mutandis, Pelerin and Uchenna but one horse who is open to plenty more improvement is the twice-raced Kallisha, in the care of Ralph Beckett who does so well with this type of filly. Unraced at two the daughter of Whiper made a winning start as a 3-year-old when taking a decent Sandown maiden in April before stepping up in class to contest Lingfield's Oaks trial last month. Beaten just two lengths in fourth place Kallisha met plenty of trouble in running and is surely better than the bare form making the 15-2 available with Betvictor good value about a filly who is well capable of landing this Listed race before going on to better things.
