Following a maiden victory at Newbury as a 2-year-old, Secret Gesture was an impressive winner of the Lingfield Oaks Trial last May and went on to finish second to Talent in the Epsom classic, when trainer Ralph Beckett famously landed 1-2 in the Oaks. Secret Gesture made her seasonal reappearance at York last month when putting in a cracking effort for second in the Group 2 Middleton Stakes where Ambivilant enjoyed a fitness advantage.
