Mambo Rhythm is tipped to take full advantage of carrying a light weight to win the Fernigair Handicap at 3.15 Hamilton today.
Corton Lad has attracted support for this 1m 4f 17yds Class 5 handicap this morning and heads the market at 29/10 with BetBright, but has gone up 6lb for winning at Newcastle last week and this race could have come too soon. Rookery is best judged on his penultimate start as he was out of his depth at York last time and could bounce back here, but it's Mark Johnston's other runner which appeals most in Mambo Rhythm, currently backable at 3/1 with Betfred and Paddy Power.
Tipped at 9/2 earlier this morning on our Twitter feed, the Authorized filly had gone close in a couple of handicap appearances off a mark of 64. The selection finished third over today's trip at Leicester and got the same result over an extra 2 furlongs at Redcar in May before really catching the eye when dropping back into Maiden company at Pontefract. Mambo Rhythm didn't get a clear run in that race, but stayed on well to finish within 2 lengths of Westerly, giving the impression that she can take full advantage of her light weight today.
