Tectonic has been knocking at the door in handicaps of late and is tipped to get a head in front at 5.00 Ayr on Monday afternoon.
The mount of Tom Eaves was recommended at 15/2 on our Twitter feed yesterday evening, but remains a value bet at best odds 6/1 with 888Sport, where customers get losing bets refunded if their horse is 2nd by a neck or less.
A course and distance winner last July, Tectonic had to settle for an unwanted hat-trick of runner-up efforts at Carlisle in June before going close again over this track and trip at the start of the month off a mark of 68. The consistent 5-year old was then third over a mile at Hamilton Park before posting a rare below par effort over an extra furlong there last weekend and is expected to bounce back today off a handicap rating of 69.
Dark Crystal certainly warrents respect having scored on both of her runs at this venue, but the filly was unable to cope with her revised mark at Hamilton last time meaning the main danger to the selection could be Push Me, although the handicapper could still have the mare in his grasp leaving Tectonic as a more enticing bet at the current odds.
Elsewhere in the field there are a few with questions to answer such as Brooke's Bounty who returns after over a year off and Polar Forest who has failed to beat a rival in two starts, while Pat's Legacy and Order Of Service would need to improve significantly on recent efforts to get involved.
