Having met trouble in running at Sandown last time, Ajjaadd is tipped to bounce back to form in the Prestwold Conditions Stakes at 5.25 Leicester on Tuesday afternoon.
The class 3 sprint looks set to be a competitive affair despite a relatively small field of runners, but at 4/1 with Paddy Power Ajjadd is the selection. Green Door was a Group 2 winner as a juvenile, but has not ran to the same level since although could come into the reckoning on these terms if reproducing the run that saw Olly Stevens' 3-year-old find the frame at Nottingham last time out. Boston Rocker is another interesting contender despite winning just once in 15 runs, the talented Andrea Atzeni is in the saddle as the filly returns from a lengthy absence though, meaning fitness could be an issue. Duke of Firenze made a modest debut for Robert Cowell at Nottingham last time and may kick on with cheek-pieces applied, but the 5-year-old may struggle to replicate last year's form.
Eight times a winner on turf, Ajjadd didnt appreciate the step up to 6 furlongs in a class 2 at Goodwood in May and was more like his usual self when runner-up to Milly's Gift in the Palacegate Touch Handicap at Sandown next time out. The bay gelding was upped in class again for an unsuccessful crack at the SIS Live Handicap at Ascot before being denied a clear run back at Sandown on his latest start. This race represents much calmer waters for the mount of William Twiston-Davies and the dual course and distance winner can go well at a track he seems to love.
Elsewhere in the field, Swiss Cross looks best suited to All-Weather racing and will need to step up considerably on recent displays to get involved, while Silvanius has been going well, but may struggle in this company.
