High Aspirations will have his supporters for the Class 5 chase run ofer 3 miles and 2 furlongs at 3.10 Warwick on Wednesday afternoon after the 6-year-old fell two from home when looking a more than likely winner at Ffos Las last month. If that mistake hasn't left a mark then the mount of Nick Scholfield could well go close, but it's difficult to ignore the horse at the head of the weights here.
Chac Du Cadran is thrown in off mark of 98 on his best form and should be able to take this at best odds guaranteed 7/2 with Betvictor. The thorough stayer won the North Yorkshire National at Catterick on soft ground off a handicap rating of 115 in January 2013, then went on to perform with credit in the Midlands National at Uttoxeter off a revised mark of 126. Failing to complete in four subsequent starts has resulted in the handicapper showing some respite, so Tom Messenger should be able to steer his mount to victory in this company if Chac Du Cadran runs to anywhere near his best.
Cheat The Cheater is on a handy mark, but is likely to be chasing the two principal challengers home, while The Last Bridge found the frame in his last three chase starts before failing to fire back over hurdles. Monty's Revenge and Somerby have a fair bit to find to get involved and will struggle to get near to a freshened-up Chac Du Cadran.
