Betting for the Class 4 Betdaq 0% Multiples For First Month Novices Chase at 1.00 Doncaster is unsurprisingly dominated by Josses Hill. Nicky Henderson's 7-year-old was a class-act over hurdles, but didn't quite have the same finesse over fences when runner-up to Ptit Zig on last month's chase debut at Ascot and is no sort of value at odds-on.
Solar Impulse has taken well to chasing, but the top-weight was pulled up at Cheltenham last month and it could be worth siding with 2011 Champion Bumper winner Cheltenian at a juicy price of 6/1 with Betway.
The lightly-raced 9-year-old has a bit of course form having finished runner-up at this trip over the smaller obstacles following his Cheltenham success and has always looked a chaser in the making. The mount of Richard Johnson landed the odds at Uttoxeter in December 2013 and looks to have been found a good opening by trainer Philip Hobbs who fits a first-time hood to the selection today.
Minella Forfitness came in ahead of Cheltenian over hurdles at this venue in 2013, but is yet to prove he's anything like the same force since leaving Nicky Henderson and could be among the back numbers with Ivan Boru and rank-outsider Abuelo.
