A field of seven take to Wetherby racecourse which received the green light on Tuesday morning for racing as the winter season bids to halt proceedings, Freebets.com racing tipster Alan Kelly picking out 9/2 Bennys Well to cause a surprise in the day's 1.40 Medieval Day Handicap Chase.
The venue was one of those to pass the tests of the winter conditions on Tuesday morning, along with Southwell after passing an 8am inspection while Leicester was not as lucky with overnight lows of -6C claiming the card.
Trainer Sue Smith enjoyed a double victory at Haydock on Saturday afternoon, and enters the Wetherby meeting with 9/2 (William Hill) Bennys Well in the 1.40 contest held over an extended two-mile and over four-furlong distance looking to recover the form that took the Bay Gelding to Carlisle honours in November.
One of Bennys Well's beaten opposition that day was Rowdy Rocher, the bumper, hurdle and chase winner not fully exposed and the fitting of cheekpieces could help overturn such a result.
Henry Oliver's Crescent Beach was picturesque at Towcester on Boxing Day last month after edging away to a comfortable victory on the Bay's last outing, Liam Treadwell again aboard the winner which comes in at joint second favourite with Bennys Well.
