American Legend tends to give a good account and the 7/1 chance with Coral (money back on fallers) looks a value bet against the field in the Class 3 Whites - Free Skips For Metal Handicap Chase at 4.20 Warwick.
Barton Gift has a 4lb rise to cope with having had the better of Incentivise at Bangor in February and that pair should be hard to split once more, while last year's winner Loughalder looked a beaten horse from some way out when a distant third at Chepstow in January.
Reblis can never be entirely relied upon, but could get involved if running to the level of his penultimate start at Plumpton, while Fredo is another quirky type who may find this race coming too soon off a 7lb rise for last weekend's Huntingdon success.
The 3 mile 5 furlong contest is a competitive heat and not the easiest to unravel, but a chance can be take on American legend who has put in just one poor run in the last five starts. The 7-year-old was in the winners enclosure at Worcester last August, prior to finding just one horse too good on his next two starts. The bay gelding then found the Devon Marathon too hot and began to drop back on the turn for home, but this shorter trip could be right up his street and a solid second at Doncaster in January suggests the horse remains in good heart.
It must also be noted that Jonjo O'Neill's horses were simply not winning a short while back and now that the stable is firing again, a chance can be taken on American Legend who is a largely consistent performer.
