Wetherby holds its first ever flat race meeting on Sunday where Andrew Balding-trained Secret Hint looks the pick of the bumper eight-race card.
The lightly-raced four-year-old filly returns after a break of 213 days but won on her debut at Doncaster last season so there shouldn’t be too many concerns about fitness.
The daughter of Oasis Dream beat a stronger field in a 0-100 handicap at Newmarket on her last appearance in September. The yard is in decent form, picking up a winner at Sandown on Friday, and Secret Hint looks a worthy favourite with 6/4 on offer at bet365.
Hopes N Dreams is an interesting option for the extended five furlong sprint, Kevin Ryan brings the mare back to turf after an unsuccessful campaign on the all-weather. The seven-year-old’s best form is on this surface and she’ll run off an 8lb lower mark than her last handicap victory.
Fleurtille made a pleasing return when runner up at Ripon earlier this month but is up in class today. Ridge Ranger is another lightly-raced entry with potential to improve. Eric Alston’s four-year-old drops back in trip and could be there or thereabouts at the finish.
Fab Lolly has come in for support overnight and has been in good form on the all-weather this year but her three wins have come over seven furlongs and she may be found wanting for speed over today’s trip.
Augusta Ada won well over six furlongs at Pontefract in September and receives 4lb for a one-and-a-half length defeat by the tip at Newmarket on her next outing. The daughter of Byron will be a danger if Ollie Pears can produce the filly at her peak.
