Singeur is well handicapped and can make a long-awaited return to the winner’s enclosure in the five-furlong handicap at Musselburgh today.
The Rebecca Bastiman-trained gelding will benefit from a previous outing this season when shaking off the cobwebs at Beverley two weeks ago and can land this 0-80 sprint at 4/1 on bet365 with best odds guarantee and a free bet bonus into the bargain.
The son of three-time Group 1 winner Singspiel has come in for support with bookmakers this morning but followers of my twitter handle @racingtips2day were alerted to the tip at 5/1 earlier today.
The eight-year-old last won in 2012 when landing a 0-95 handicap over the minimum trip at Ripon and goes to post off a career low mark in the Weatherbys Private Banking Handicap at 2.55. Although winless throughout last season, he put up some decent performances and was placed in his last four appearances before taking a break for the winter.
A quick re-appearance suggests he came out of his seasonal debut in good shape and has every chance of finishing ahead of Fredricka, a winner at Redcar four weeks ago and Noodles Blue Boy who was second on his seasonal bow at Ripon recently.
Course and distance winners Bunce and Go Go Green arrive on the back of good performances and Rotheday Chancer is down to his last winning mark and is another to respect,
