With the ground expected to dry out ahead of York's Thursday card it was no surprise to see our Wednesday nap Out Do declared a non-runner in the six furlong Infinity Tyres Stakes as trainer David O'Meara almost certainly feels that the son of Exceed And Excel will be better suited by the conditions in the opening Betfred " Supports Jack Berry House " Handicap on day two of the Dante meeting and in what looks an easier contest the decision of connections can be justified with a win for the six-year-old in the five furlong sprint at the 8-1 available with bet365 and Betfair Sportsbook.

All eyes will be concentrating on the feature race of the day, the Betfred Dante Stakes at 3.15, with the winner likely to head towards the Epsom Derby as the market leader in just over three weeks time but from a betting perspective it is the Betfred TV Hambleton Handicap at 3.45 that has more appeal in which the Tim Easterby-trained Off Art is fancied to take the valuable one mile contest off what looks a reasonable mark of 95.

The son of Dutch Art had just the one race as a juvenile, finishing fifth in a Ripon maiden, but enjoyed a successful three-year-old campaign winning all three starts and was not seen again until going off the 7-1 joint favourite for Doncaster's William Hill Lincoln last year. Beaten less than three lengths in fifth place the mount of David Allen was expected to gain compensation five weeks later in the Thirsk Hunt Cup but lost his chance early on when stumbling badly leaving the stalls.

The five-year-old was not seen again until going for that race 12 months later and fared much better, staying on strongly for second place behind Sound Advice who enjoyed the run of the race, and although racing off a 2lb higher mark on the Knavesmire the lightly-raced gelding could end up a 100+ rated performer and looks fair value to get off the mark for the season at the 8-1 on offer with bet365, Skybet and William Hill.

Recommendation:
1 Point each-way Out Do 8-1 bet365
1 Point each-way Off Art 8-1 bet365
1 Point each-way double
