You'd expect a 15 runner race to have a bit of an open feel to it, but betting for this evening's Listed Weatherbys Private Banking Leisure Stakes at 7.25 Windsor has been dominated by Pretend and there is plenty to like about the 7/2 chance with Coral, remembering that losing stakes are refunded if your horse is 2nd, beaten by a head or less.
The 4-year-old has won 5 of the last 6 starts and has really stepped things up on the All-Weather this term with an impressive victory at Lingfield to complete a hat-trick when last seen in April, holding off Alben Star (pictured above). Today's distance of 6 furlongs looks to be the Invincible Spirit gelding's best trip and with going described as being on the fast side of good, there is every reason to believe that the mount of William Buick can transfer that form on to turf.
Top-weight Naadirr was a consistent type last season and looked to have picked up where he left off at Doncaster, but flopped at York last time so is perhaps best watched today. Recent course and distance scorer Divine is still relatively unexposed and could come into the mix if handling the step up in grade, with Eastern Impact also hoping to scale new heights after a career best performance at Newmarket last time.
Tropics tends to take a race or two to get up and running and with the remainder of the field having doubts of some kind, it's Pretend who sets the standard and should take all of the beating this evening.
