Betting for the EBF Stallions Breeding Winners Park Suite Fillies' Handicap at 4.00 Pontefract is headed by 3/1 shot Mambo's Paradise who has achieved a couple of wins over 6f in All-Weather handicaps and was nabbed late on over 1m at Chester last time. A drop back in trip should see Mark Johnston's filly go well, but she's 3lb higher than her last win, which was by the narrowest of margins and it could pay to look elsewhere for value.
Gran Canaria Queen will have her supporters after an all the way success at York earlier this month, but a 4lb hike could halt her progress and it's Augusta Ada that makes the most appeal at the current odds.
The 4-year-old ran out a comfortable 2 and a half length winner over course and distance off a mark of 77 back in September and posted a solid effort of her revised mark of 84 in hot company at Newmarket next time out. The Byron filly then failed to act on heavy ground over the minimum trip at today's venue on her final start of last season before making a modest return to to action this term, when finishing mid division at Wetherby.
Last seen over 7f at Doncaster, Augusta Ada was held up off the pace and came with a challenge 2f from home and was bang in the mix until fading inside the final furlong, suggesting that a return to today's trip off just 3lb higer than her last winning mark coupled with the eye-catching booking of jockey Ryan Moore should make her hard to beat.
1pt win Augusta Ada - 11/2 Ladbrokes
