2016/17 Premier League

Having just lost to Sunderland, it seems counterintuitive to tip Leicester City to beat Manchester City this weekend. But that’s what we at Free Bets are going to do. Kind of. Draw no bet, safety net. The nursery rhyme you learn in your first year of betting school. Claudio Ranieri’s side convincingly beat City at the Etihad last year after a goalless draw at the King Power Stadium.
And sorry to sing this tired old song but it must be said that they’re a different beast this time around. Obviously. They’re hovering the relegation zone, for goodness sake.
That puts them under pressure to get something from this game. They haven’t fared well against the bigger clubs in the Premier League this season. Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have pummelled them in humiliating fashion. There’s no doubt that City have the firepower to do the same. However, their defensive frailty could cost them here again.
Last weekend, City passed up chance after chance to finish Chelsea off, allowing the Blues to rally and show up their exposed defense. Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho will miss this game for bans they earned in a brawl at the end of that match.
While Jamie Vardy hasn’t replicated his form from that title-winning fairy tale. He is one of a host of fast attackers who can cause City problems on the break. If Ranieri can organise his team well enough, the Foxes will get something from this bout.
Leicester predicted XI: Zieler, Huth, Fuchs, Simpson, Morgan, Mendy, Albrighton, Amartey, Okazaki, Mahrez, Vardy
Man City predicted XI: Bravo, Zabaleta, Stones, Otamendi, Clichy, Fernando, Gundogan, Sane, Nolito, De Bruyne, Iheanacho
