England seek historic semi-final spot with victory over Sweden

England fans are daring to ream now at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, as the Three Lions prepare to take on Sweden in their quarter-final clash.

After rallying to their first ever World Cup penalty shootout triumph, Gareth Southgate’s men are riding on a high and have momentum on their side.

Colombia managed to take them to extra-time with a last-gasp equaliser in normal time and it looked like the same familiar story would occur when Jordan Henderson missed during the shootout.

But heroics from Jordan Pickford and a winning spot-kick from Eric Dier have given England fans plenty of cause for optimism on Russian soil.

Their nation will now enter the quarter-final meeting with Sweden at 7/2 with Betfred to draw at half-time and win at full-time this weekend.

Meanwhile, the Swedes are still a dangerous threat, particularly from set-pieces, and they can be backed at 15/4 wit bet365 to come out on top in 90 minutes.

Harry Kane the main man again for roaring Three Lions

Tottenham Hotspur frontman Harry Kane is enjoying a magnificent World Cup campaign and has become a great captain for Southgate’s roster.

The Premier League marksman is leading the way in the race for the Golden Boot at this summer tournament, firing England towards a historic semi-final spot.

Sweden will pose a strong threat here but Kane is a promising 11/4 with Paddy Power to open the scoring in normal time against them.

The Spurs ace slotted home from the penalty spot against Colombia before also dispatching in the successful shootout and he will be keen to carry his nation to a historic semi-final outing against Croatia or hosts Russia.

For Sweden, Marcus Berg is a danger up front and he is available at 7/2 with Betfair to get on the scoresheet anytime during 90 minutes.

Harry Kane to score first in normal time is 11/4 with Paddy Power.
