Judd Trump -2.5 handicap v Lu Ning

Judd Trump has won the last three editions of the Northern Ireland Open, dating back to 2018.

Albeit getting off to a slow start in the 2021/22 season, the world number two looks in fine fettle this week.

He’s dropped just one frame in his last two matches and we expect this form to continue against Lu Ning.

David Gilbert to win first frame v Louis Heathcote

Gilbert is in great nick of late, winning his last four matches by a combined score of 16-3.

Heathcote is just about ranked inside the world’s top 100 and is expected to get off to a slow start here.

Gilbert should dominate the table and this game.

Stuart Bingham 4-1 Ashley Carty

“Ball-run” Bingham has dropped a solitary frame in four of his last six victories.

Carty received a walkover win in the last round so may take a while to find his groove in Belfast.

4-1 to Bingham is a punt – but it looks about right.
