Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Betting Tips

You may be forgiven for thinking the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is all about pointless with Lewis Hamilton already having wrapped up the Drivers Championship, but there’s plenty still to play for.

Every driver will want to end the season on a high and Hamilton will undoubtedly want to extend his lead at the top, even if it’s already sealed.

What’s up for grabs is pride, and of course plenty of cash. That’s why Hamilton still goes into the race as Abu Dhabi favourite.

Naturally, even if the season’s titles are decided, there’s still plenty for us punters to enjoy come the weekend. That starts with the fastest qualifiers.

Abu Dhabi Fastest Qualifier Odds

According to the bookies it’s going to be the Lewis Hamilton show, with the Brit also at 4/6 favourite to finish fastest qualifier.

What will be interesting however is that there still are places to play for in the Drivers’ Championship.

Technically second place is still up for grabs so you’d expect Sebastian Vettel to work hard for pole in qualifying, while Valtteri Bottas will be looking to put himself in the best possible position to pinch Vettel’s spot on the final podium.

Bottas is at 4/1 in the odds to finish fastest qualifier at Abu Dhabi, while Vettel is also priced the same and could be worth a Formula One free bet to make it a little more exciting.

Favourites to finish fastest qualifier odds:

Lewis Hamilton – 4/6
Valtteri Bottas – 4/1
Sebastian Vettel – 4/1
Max Verstappen – 10/1
Daniel Ricciardo – 10/1
Kimi Räikkönen – 16/1

Of course, most of our money will be going on the Grand Prix itself, and as mentioned there are positions to play for.

Bottas will be going for broke in what could be an impossible task as he looks to recoup 22 points on Vettel. But that could mean he is worth backing.

The Finnish driver is at 7/1 for the win as he looks to take second in his first season with Mercedes, giving the giants a one, two in the overall standings.

What could give Vettel the edge though is his success on the circuit. Vettel has one more Abu Dhabi Grand Prixs than anyone else – joint with Hamilton – and also finished third last season. More of the same from him will see second spot secured.

Equally, only four points separate Daniel Ricciardo and Kimi Räikkönen who sit in fourth and fifth respectively.

The Australian is favourite to come out on top here, but Räikkönen is also a former winner and his odds of 20/1 could be tempting for a few.

Favourites to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix:

Lewis Hamilton – 4/ 5
Sebastian Vettel – 13/5
Valtteri Bottas – 7/1
Max Verstappen – 11/1
Daniel Ricciardo – 14/1
Kimi Räikkönen – 20/1
