Algeria Can Frustrate Russia
Algeria To Draw With Russia
Get football betting advice and tips from former England international Matt Le Tissier ahead of tonight’s crucial Algeria v Russia World Cup Group H clash, live on ITV from 9.00pm.
Algeria have certainly performed far better at the World Cup than most people expected. They took the lead against hot Group H favourites Belgium and were 20 minutes away from a shock result until the Red Devils turned the game around, then the African side roared to life when beating South Korea 4-2 and just need to avoid defeat tonight to make the last 16.
Russia were expected to tussle for top spot with Belgium, but are staring at an early exit in Brazil unless they can win tonight. Fabio Capello’s side could only manage a 1-1 draw with South Korea and were made to pay when playing for a draw against Belgium when they lost to a late goal two minutes from time.
Matt Le Tissier Tips: “Russia have disappointed so far, I certainly wouldn’t fancy their chances of coming from a goal down against the Algerians, considering they have found the net just once all tournament, and the 11/4 with Boylesports on the game ending level looks worth chancing.”
After a hugely impressive performance last time out Algeria are unlikely to make changes, while the injured Aleksei Kozlov will be replaced by Andrey Eshchenko at right-back for Russia and Capello must decide whether to keep faith with goal-shy Alexander Kokorin or freshen up his attack with Alexander Kerzhakov.
