Arsenal and Tottenham To Draw In FA Cup
The tie of the round is the North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hostpur at the Emirates. This will be the sixth FA Cup meeting between the sides and the Gunners have the edge with three wins against two for Spurs.
The last three FA Cup meetings have been in the semi-finals and in some way it’s a shame they meet so soon in this season’s competition. Both clubs have a fine FA Cup tradition, Arsenal have lifted the trophy 10 times and Tottenham aren’t far behind as eight-time winners.
Matt Le Tissier tips: “The big one is saved until last tomorrow with Arsenal hosting Tottenham. It’s been an up and down season for the latter, but they’ve won 13 of their last 16 away games and arrive bang in confidence after notching a win at Old Trafford.
Arsenal are solid at home but have so many top players either injured or doubtful that I’m willing to take them on. Spurs have only won once in 20 years at the Gunners, so the draw at 13/5 with bet365 looks the best option. The 1-1 score at 8/1 with BetVictor might be worth a nibble.”
Good news for Spurs fans is Emmanuel Adebayor is fit after being stretchered off in the 2-1 win at Old Trafford on Wednesday. The return of the former Arsenal striker has been an inspiration. He has scored four goals in five appearances since Tim Sherwood recalled him to the side after being frozen out by Andre Villas-Boas.
Arsenal’s top striker Olivier Giroud is doubtful and Aaron Ramsey, who has scored eight goals from midfield for the Gunners, will be missing along with Nicklas Bendtner and Kieron Gibbs.
