Bayer Leverkusen vs Hannover preview, betting odds and prediction
May 11, 2018
It’s D-Day for Bayer Leverkusen. They’re only outside the Champions League places on goal difference going into the final game of the season. It’s a situation that could have been avoided if they didn’t suffer a huge and untimely slump in form. Being battered in the German Cup by Bayern Munich triggered a three-game winless run in the Bundesliga.
They have to beat Hannover (although technically they could break into the top four with less, they really have to beat Hannover) and haven’t had much trouble doing that in recent years. They have won all of their last nine home games against Hannover and managed to score four at the Niedersachsenstadion earlier in the campaign. They conceded four in the same game.
Goalfests haven’t been very welcome among Leverkusen supporters of late because they usually see them picking the ball out of their net more than their opponents. This could be a nervy, cagey affair but we back Leverkusen to do the job in front of their own fans.
