Much like a flurry from a peak Roy Jones Jr., it’s impossible to dodge the boxing this weekend either side of the Atlantic.

There are handfuls of cards scattered up and down the UK and US and we’ve pinpointed the best of the action in this weekend’s Big Boxing Acca.

Check out the legs here in this 19/1 shot in our weekly Big Boxing Acca:

10pm, Saturday - Lawrence Okolie to beat David Light by KO/TKO

Okolie is now the face of BOXXER and Sky Sports in the UK after making the jump from DAZN and we’re expecting a dominant performance against the overmatched David Light.

Light comes over from New Zealand without anything notable on his record, and with Okolie’s reach and new-found power thanks to trainer SugarHill Steward, a stoppage victory looks pretty tough to resist.

This is the first 12-round for Light and the longer the fight goes on the more likely he is to drown.

2am, Sunday - Chris Colbert to beat Jose Valenzuela by KO/TKO

At the start of 2022 Chris Colbert was being touted as one of the next big stars in boxing.

He was the unbeaten WBA interim super featherweight champion until an unexpected loss to Hector Garcia derailed his progress. Now, at 16-1, “Prime Time” is jumping up a weight and into dangerous waters with Jose Valenzuela.

“I’m coming up in weight, so what fighter is not going to feel good coming up in weight?” Colbert said to the media this week.

“Saturday night will tell me how I really feel and I’ll see whether or not I can hang at this weight class. I feel like I can. I’ve been in the ring with 155 lbers and it’s nothing to me. I think I’ll be good.”

Valenzuela got stopped inside three rounds in his last fight to Edwin de los Santos and Colbert will believe he is getting the 23-year-old at the right time.

We’re backing a blistering comeback performance from Colbert with a stoppage victory.

4am, Sunday - Jose Ramirez to beat Richard Commey by Decision/Technical Decision

Unfortunately for Richard Commey, it looks from the outside that he is slowly wandering towards Father Time’s embrace.

He has just one victory in his last four outings and next on the hit-list is 140lbs contender Jose Ramirez.

Ramirez only has one defeat to his name – a tight decision to Josh Taylor in 2021 – and is more than capable of grabbing a title in this stacked division.

A dominant display from Ramirez will put him right back in the super-lightweight mix.

5am, Sunday - David Benavidez to beat Caleb Plant by KO/TKO

This a fantastic match-up in the super-middleweight division.

David Benavidez is a big puncher and, despite losing his world title twice due to missing weight and using recreational drugs, is still unbeaten as a professional.

Caleb Plant secured “the bag” in his 2021 loss to Canelo Alvarez and is now on the charge towards regaining world honours at 168.

It’s a classic puncher vs boxer match-up and we are edging towards the bludgeoning power of Benavidez in a stoppage win.
