Boxing: 28/1 Weekend Acca - Saturday 17th September

We’re back this weekend with a massive long-shot 28/1 Big Boxing Acca

This Saturday’s hotly-anticipated trilogy fight between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin has got the boxing world purring.

The pair of, now super-middleweights head back to Las Vegas to do it all over again in the wee hours of Sunday morning as the Kazakh looks to right the wrongs of the past and land a historic win over Canelo.

But it’s not just these two that will be entertaining the sold-out T-Mobile Arena.

We’ve got action from one of the brightest stars in boxing, Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez, and an outing for an old, weathered favourite, Gabriel Rosado.

Check out the legs of our huge 28/1 Big Boxing Acca here:

Canelo Alvarez to beat Gennady Golovkin by KO, TKO or Disqualification

We’ve backed Canelo to get the stoppage this time around on our Top 5 Betting Tips piece, and at 8/5 with bet365, it’s impossible to leave it out of the Acca.

Listen, we have huge amounts of respect for Golovkin as a fighter, but at 42 years old and up at a weight class he hasn’t campaigned in at the highest level, it’s hard to see him hearing the final bell if Alvarez is on-song.

That is still a fairly big IF.

Canelo is rebounding after a humbling at the hands of Dmitry Bivol at light-heavyweight, but at 168, Canelo looks and feels pretty unstoppable.

His body shots could potentially prove the difference in this fight.

GGG has looked a little soft to the abdomen over the past few years and that killer left hook to the solar plexus that Canelo has perfected with Eddy Reynoso will surely take its toll.

Golovkin will be telling himself that he won the first two fights – something that is pretty hard to argue with unless you look at the official records – but Father Time waits for no man, not even the legendary Kazakh, and a stoppage win for Canelo will put a full stop at the end of this absorbing rivalry.

Bam Rodriguez to beat Israel Gonzalez in Rounds 1-4

Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez has had a breakout 2022 so far and is en route to becoming one of the biggest young stars in world boxing.

He’s quick, hits hard and is arguably the most talented fighter in the world in the lower weight classes.

He has already notched up two massive wins in 2022 against former world champions Carlos Cuadras, and Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and this WBC super-flyweight defence will signal his fourth fight in just 11 months!

Israel Gonzalez has been active at the top of the super-flyweight division for years but hasn’t mixed it with anyone as good as Rodriguez.

Gonzalez already has four losses on his slate, and we’re backing Bam to make that five with a quick blowout between Rounds 1-4 at 5/1 with bet365.

Ali Akhemedov to beat Gabriel Rosado by KO, TKO or Disqualification

We usually know what to expect from Gabe Rosado: entertainment.

The 36-year-old is clinging onto his boxing career by his fingertips, now owning a messy record of 26-15-1.

That’s 15 losses as a pro – something not often seen for a guy who can still land big fights (unless your name is Dereck Chisora).

Ali Akhemedov is still rebuilding after a freak 12th-round KO loss to Carlos Gongora back in 2020 but is moving well in the super-middleweight division.

14 of his 18 wins have come by stoppage, and his aggression, we expect, is going to be too much for the seasoned yet damaged frame of Gabriel Rosado.

Rosado is a warrior and may well have to be saved by his corner from the attacks of the young Kazakh.
