Chelsea And Liverpool To Draw
Chelsea host Liverpool in the big Premier League game today which marks the Reds’ second successive away game against major title rivals. Brendan Rogers team played well in the 2-1 defeat against Manchester City on Boxing Day and it will interesting to see how they respond when facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge just two days later.
Jose Mourinho has indicated he is not too happy with his players and there’s no doubt that Chelsea have failed to click so far. Despite the manager’s reservations, his team has been grinding out results and could go second in the league if Sunday’s results go their way.
Matt Le Tissier tips: “It doesn’t seem to matter how they play, Chelsea keep winning at home. Liverpool can be brilliant on their day but away form has been inconsistent all season.
This is a huge game for both teams and given Liverpool’s recent record at Stamford Bridge, I can see it finishing honours even. I’ll go for the draw at 5/2 with bet365.”
Chelsea have only dropped two points at home this season, bettered only by Manchester City’s 100% home record. If there’s one team that can threaten Chelsea’s dominance at home it’s Sunday’s visitors. Liverpool have a habit of scoring late goals against Chelsea, Luis Suarez struck to earn a point at Stamford Bridge last season and the Reds had won on their two previous visits in the league.
