2.50pm Cheltenham – Ultima Handicap Chase
CORACH RAMBLER (11/1 at Betfair Sportsbook) has been the horse I have been keen on for the Ultima for some time and he is my each-way play here where Betfair offer 7-places. Novices have a good record in this and off a mark of 140 I think he is well handicapped.
His mishap when departing five fences from home at Ascot last time out is probably a blessing in disguise as he gets a nice pull at he weights with the Reynoldstown victor Does He Know. He has a win at Cheltenham on his CV and plenty of stamina in his armoury.
4.10pm Cheltenham – Mares Hurdle
TELMESOMETHINGGIRL (7/2 at Betfair Sportsook) will be primed to minute for the Mares’ Hurdle and I think the Henry De Bromhead trained mare is the one they all have to pass.
She stormed up the hill 12 months ago to land the Mares’ Novice Hurdle, and I expect similar scenes this time around. Her third-placed finish at Leopardstown when conceding weight to Royal Kahala and Heaven Help Us reads well and I think she is the class act on display.

4.50pm Cheltenham – Boodles Handicap Hurdle
Drying ground could be the making of CHAMPION GREEN (12/1 at bet365*) who gets the services of Rachael Blackmore, and I like the gears this individual possesses.
He looked at his happiest on the Flat on a sound surface, and we saw similar evidence of that at Naas last time out. That is no surprise looking at his pedigree, and I think a mark of 125 underestimates him. The Joseph O’Brien representative would be my each-way angle in this assignment.
5.30pm Cheltenham – National Hunt Chase
Isn’t PATS FANCY a big price here? He put in a superb round of jumping on unfavourable terms behind Bravemansgame at Newbury last time out but should excel over this trip.
He is from a proper staying family, and the yard have won this race before. I think he will gallop on when others have cried enough so is firmly in the mix from my point of view – rule him out at your peril.
