Man City To Win By 1 Goal

Matt Le Tissier fancies Aguero to notch the first goal in West Ham v Man City on Saturday

West Ham have reached the dizzy heights of fourth place in the Premier league with 4 wins 1 draw and 3 defats from their eight games so far. The Hammers asserted their authority on two promoted sides recently with back-to-back wins against QPR and Burnley, so Sam Allardyce’s side head into this home clash with Man City looking for a third consecutive victory.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side slipped up again in the Champions League, but their domestic form has been superb of late. The last time they dropped points was against Premier League leaders Chelsea and after Sergio Aguero’s masterclass against Tottenham, City chase a fourth win on the bounce in this competition today.

Matt Le Tissier Tips: “Aguero bagged four against Spurs last weekend, which gives me confidence to back the 7/2 with William Hill on him being the first goalscorer. I’m also tempted to back Diafra Sakho as an anytime goalscorer at 3/1 with bwin after the revelation’s six goals from his first seven appearances.

As for the  for the result, I can see it being tighter than many expect, especially at Upton Park, so I see value in a City win by the margin of a single goal at 14/5 with Ladbrokes.”

West Ham lost four times to Manchester City last season; twice in the league and both legs of the Capital One Cup semi-final.

James Tomkins could return from a thigh injury for the hosts, with James Collins ready to deputise again if the defender does not make it back in time. Mauro Zarate is again a doubt leaving Valencia and the impressive Sakho to lead the Hammers’ attack.

Frank Lampard remains sidelined after picking up an injury in the win over Spurs last weekend, joining Samir Nasri on the injury list. Jesus Navas may return to the starting lineup after featuring from the bench against CSKA Moscow, while Pellegrini must decide whether or not to recall Edin Dzeko to partner Aguero up-front.
