England aim to reverse a poor run of white ball form

England have lost three out of their last four limited overs internationals against India to leave new coach Matthew Mott under a bit of early pressure.

After a 2-1 series defeat in the T20s last week, they are now 1-0 down in the ODIs and with an uphill battle to turn it around against an Indian team on cloud nine.

I have to say, I didn’t see this coming. And the even bigger surprise has been that the batting has been at the heart of their failures against Rohit Sharma’s side.

Yesterday at the Oval was the prime example as they lost by 10 wickets; bowled out for 110 inside 26 overs with only captain Jos Buttler (30) passing 25.

I’m going to give England one more chance, though. Feel free to call me mad!

I tipped them to win the T20 series and have done in the ODIs, including what I thought would be a victory yesterday. Oops, sorry.

But England are much better than this, and there isn’t the gulf between the teams that the results and performances have suggested over the last week or so.

And I’m backing them to prove why they are world champions, to come out fighting when the chips are down and win at Lord’s to square the series. They are a best price of 11/10 with Ladbrokes amongst others to win at the Home of Cricket.

Bairstow and Root to lead the fightback to bring home 6/4 shot

I quite like the #GetAPrice selection that Ladbrokes are offering on Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root to score 100 runs combined at Lord’s at 6/4.

These two have been England’s best batters in Test cricket this summer. Ok, I admit it’s a different format, but their records in 50-over are outstanding too.

Even money shot on the series win has now become 11/4

If you are sticking with me in terms of faith in England, then you might be interested in bet365′s offering on Buttler and co to recover and win the series.

In the preview for the opening ODI, England were evens to win the series.

But now, bet365 have them at 11/4 to win at Lord’s and then at Emirates Old Trafford on Sunday and win 2-1.

Super Shami looks excellent value through Price Boost

Veteran India quick Mohammed Shami just keeps on performing.

He is, in many ways, the quiet assassin. He isn’t the flash superstar Virat Kohli is, or he doesn’t have the pace of a Jasprit Bumrah. But he still picks up wickets.

Shami claimed 3-31 in the Oval victory, figures which would often put you right in the running to be top bowler. But Bumrah had one heck of a day out with his six-for. Every credit!

Shami, meanwhile, has taken at least a wicket in five out of his last six white ball games, the majority of them for IPL winners Gujarat Titans.

I’m very interested in the bet365 price boost on him to be India’s top bowler at Lord’s, up from 15/4 to 9/2.
