Consider this. It’s an amazing statistic. If Mumbai beat reigning champions Gujarat in this effective semi-final, they and Chennai will have contested five IPL finals since the competition’s inception in 2008.
The Titans will have something to say about that. But I don’t think anyone will hear them. Their shouts will be muffled by an on-song Mumbai team who have peaked at the perfect time.
I know there’s the bias of being on Mumbai as a pre-tournament title tip, but take that out of the equation and I’m just not sure you can oppose them at present amidst such a strong winning run - six out of their last eight games.
They’re 10/11 to win with a host of firms, including BoyleSports.
I did steer clear of the result of the Eliminator versus Lucknow due to having interest in the tournament win tip. But I’m going to suggest getting on them again because they look like a team on a roll. It feels like their moment, especially after marrying form with the ball and bat against LSG. So strong with the bat lately, there have been question marks around their bowling. It delivered in grand style to bowl Lucknow out for 101 chasing 183.
I tipped a similar bet up in the televised Blast game between Middlesex and Surrey. And Mumbai to win and hit the most sixes looks enticing at 13/10 with bet365.
Gujarat have hit 102 tournament sixes to Mumbai’s 123.

Still a Will for Gill and Jordan can Flow with River of Wickets
You may think I’m a stubborn so and so by the end of this preview. I’m sticking with Mumbai, but I’m also sticking with success for Gujarat opener Shubman Gill.
I’m going to give you a trio of prices on offer with Ladbrokes on success for him and Mumbai’s England bowling all-rounder Chris Jordan. Now, clearly, Akash Mandwaal was Mumbai’s standout bowler with 5-5 against Lucknow. But I thought Jordan was excellent in his brief two-over spell, 1-7.
He claimed the key wicket of Kyle Mayers in the powerplay and didn’t bowl again only because the match was wrapped up inside 17 overs of Mumbai’s defence of 183.
I first of all would be taking the 7/4 on offer for him to take over 1.5 wickets.

I would also be taking Ladbrokes’ price boosted 5/2 on India star Shubman Gill to score a fifty in the match. He’s in the midst of a five-innings run of 94 not out, six, 101, 104 not out and 42.
Gill has already given us significant success throughout the competition, and he’s within touching distance of bringing home some more dough courtesy of a tournament top run-scorer suggestion back in March at 9/1.
He has 722 runs to his name, eight behind Faf du Plessis, who has been knocked out with RCB. The nearest in-play challenger is Chennai’s Devon Conway with 625.
