You generally see a side find form late on and come through the pack. Things can change, but as things stand that looks like being the Mumbai Indians.
Rohit Sharma’s men have won four of their last five games. In four of those games, they have reached a total of at least 200. They haven’t just been beating sides, they have been blowing them away.
This is a clash between two teams who are in form, with Lucknow having won four of their last six to also sit firmly in the mix for success.
But I tipped Mumbai to win the title at the outset, and nothing I’ve seen of late has convinced me to go against them. I would be taking the 9/10 on offer with BetUK on them to win this fixture.
Be cautious with runs
The batting form of these two sides is quite staggering. As aforementioned, Mumbai have posted 200 plus four times in their last five games, while Lucknow have a high total of 257-5 to their name this campaign. That was the highest highest total in competition history.
Now, I’m not telling you to rule out similar fireworks in this game, absolutely not. But I would be urging caution given where this game is being played.
LSG have posted three 200 plus totals of late, including that 257 against Punjab late last month. But they have all come away from this venue, which is locally known as Ekana Sports City.
When I say be cautious, I mean more with stakes when it comes to looking at big totals. Betfair, via their #OddsOnThat selections, have a number of prices of interest.
Both teams to score 160 plus is 5/4. I would certainly be taking that along with the 3/1 they have on Mumbai to win and both teams to score 160 plus.
And, finally, for low stakes I would be having a dart at Betfair’s 9/1 on both teams to score 200 plus. That is the one I would be being cautious with.
It’s a yes for Yadav
There’s a couple of prices I will be offering you that I’m staggered are available here. I had to look twice to see if I had read it correctly, in fact.
Mumbai’s Suryakumar Yadav is, at the time of writing, the third highest run-scorer in this year’s IPL with 479 to his name, including recent scores of 55, 66 26, 83 and 103 not out.
Paddy Power are offering 9/1 on him to be Mumbai’s top run-scorer. That is just way too big for someone of his quality who has been batting at number three.
The same firm also have him at 25/1 to be the top run-scorer from either side in the match. Get on that as well.
