Week one of the 2023 Darts Premier League was full of surprises.
The last three PDC world champions – Michael Smith, Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price – all lost their league opener, with Masters champion Chris Dobey taking the spoils and leading the standings at this tender stage.

Darts Premier League Acca Tips
We head to Dublin for week two and the headline attraction in the quarter-finals is the world No. 1 against the world No. 2 – it’s Smith vs Price.
Let’s check out a juicy 17/1 Acca that we have thrown together for Thursday night:
Michael Smith to beat Jonny Clayton
Jonny Clayton is slowly slipping down the rankings following a stellar 2021 on the oche.
The “Ferret” is swimming against a tide of lost ranking points in the big TV majors and is looking to play himself into form in the Premier League.
Clayton has won the last three meetings between these two, but we can’t bet against “Bully Boy” Smith considering the last few months he has had.
Nathan Aspinall +1.5 legs vs Peter Wright
Peter Wright isn’t playing well enough at the moment to be able to give players leg advantages.
That’s why we are giving the “Asp” a leg-up on “Snakebite” in this race to six in an attempt to land leg two of the Acca.
Aspinall has won four of the last five meetings with Wright, including three on the spin in the Premier League, and we are backing him to scoop at least five legs in Dublin.

Chris Dobey most 180s and win match vs Gerwyn Price
You shouldn’t back against the form books in darts.
Dobey won his maiden TV title in January at the Masters and has followed that up by a week one win in the Premier League.
The Geordie can make it rain 180s when he is on a roll and Price’s history in the Premier League doesn’t read well.
Dobey to land the match double stacks up well.
Michael van Gerwen to beat Dimitri van den Bergh
We’re keeping it simple in the final leg of the Acca.
MVG is still capable of losing more matches than when he was unplayable at the back end of the last decade, but Dimitri van den Bergh isn’t best placed to take advantage of any of the Dutchman’s misses.
Van Gerwen toppled DVDB 6-4 last week and a similar score wouldn’t be a shock.
