2023 World Darts Championship Semi-Finals Preview & Betting Tips

We take a closer look at Monday’s two semi-finals at Ally Pally

96 have been whittled down to four at the 2023 World Darts Championship as we head back to the Ally Pally for Monday night’s semi-finals.

Michael van Gerwen is chasing his fourth world crown whilst Michael Smith, Dimitri van den Bergh and Gabriel Clemens are all vying to write their names into the history books for the first time in lifting the Sid Waddell trophy.

We’ve taken a deep dive into the two semi-finals and come up with an 11/10 and 16/1 pick. Check them out below:

Gabriel Clemens vs Michael Smith – Over 24.5 180s at 11/10

Monday 2nd January 19:00

Gabriel Clemens was unaffected by Gerwyn Price’s antics on Sunday evening, romping to a convincing 5-1 victory in the quarter-finals.

He becomes the first German to reach a PDC World Championship semi-final and is playing the kind of darts that will allow him to believe in a victory over Michael Smith.

Smith has been one of the most consistent players on the tour in 2022 and it’s no surprise that “Bully Boy” has reached his third semi-final at the Ally Pally.

He has won his previous two and we favour Smith to edge Clemens out in a match where 180s should flow.

Clemens hit eight maximums against Price in just six sets and Smith has hit 25 so far that the championships.

In a game that could easily go to 10 or 11 sets, over 24.5 180s at 11/10 is the pick.

Dimitri van den Bergh vs Michael van Gerwen – 9-dart Finish in Match at 16/1 with bet365

Monday 2nd January 21:00

Michael van Gerwen looks close to his very best again.

“Mighty Mike” has stumbled since the pandemic, but dropping just three sets so far at the 2023 World Championship underlines his dominance once again.

Dimitri van den Bergh is a maximum monster when he gets in the groove, but his doubling troublin’ might be the reason MVG is allowed to run away with this one.

We haven’t seen a nine-dart finish yet this year and this semi-final is a good candidate to find one.

Van Gerwen has been six and seven darts into one and he may well be saving his best darts for another semi-final appearance.

16/1 with bet365 says the Dutchman can throw the perfect leg.
