Nathan Aspinall to beat Dimitri van den Bergh
Alongside Michael van Gerwen, Nathan Aspinall is one of two players that have only lost one quarter-final this season.
His consistency has seen him move up to third in the league as he looks to continue his run of always making at the least playoff semi-finals when he takes part.
Dimitri van den Bergh is blowing hot and cold in this season’s league, losing his quarter-final on alternate weeks.
We’re going with the form books of Aspinall here in what could be a narrow win.
Jonny Clayton vs Gerwyn Price – Over 9.5 legs
These World Cup partners know each others game inside. The Welsh duo have clashed a number of times over the years with their last meeting ending 11-10 to the “Iceman”.
We’re backing a similarly nip-and-tuck game in Nottingham without the balls to back a winner. At least 10 legs to be thrown is the call.
Michael van Gerwen -2.5 legs handicap vs Peter Wright
It’s top against bottom here as these two former world champions look to flex their muscles against a rival.
Wright is obviously a better player than the 18-point disparity in the league between them suggests, but MVG is firing on all cylinders at the moment.
We’re not expecting a 6-0/6-1 rout, but a -2.5 handicap for the Dutchman should be overturned.
Chris Dobey vs Michael Smith – Over 6.5 180s
Both Dobey and Smith love to hammer the 60-bed when they are on-song, so at least seven maximums to be thrown in this one makes sense.
Combined they are averaging at 5.5 in the Premier League, so bumping up by one when they are both riffing off of each others tempo at the oche looks a solid option to close out the acca.
