We’re down to the last 16 in Leicester as the double-troubles continue at the Grand Prix.
We’ve seen some sensation performances from the likes of Adrian Lewis and Peter Wright so far, both back in action on Wednesday night inside the Morningside Arena.
Let’s take a look at our Day 3 picks below:
Adrian Lewis v Chris Dobey – Over 4.5 sets at 13/8 with bet365
Averaging close to 95 in a double-in format, Adrian Lewis rolled back the years on Monday night as he flexed his muscles on a major oche.
“Jackpot” hasn’t mixed it with the big boys for a number of years now, but is warming into the Grand Prix nicely, looking to go one better than his runner-up finish back in 2010.
Chris Dobey is a rising star in the PDC and underlined his threat in beating the in-form Luke Humphries on Monday thanks to a 91 average.
We can see this one going down to the wire in a five-set shootout.
Peter Wright to beat Krzysztof Ratajski and throw the highest checkout at 5/4 with bet365
Peter Wright cantered to a 94 average on Monday night without really looking like he was going to get out of first gear.
He managed to fend off a spirited comeback from Belgian Kim Huybrechts to take the match 2-0, and moves onto Krzysztof Ratajski on Wednesday night.
The Pole reached the quarter-final here last year and we’re unwilling to bet against him pocketing a number of sets, but we think Wright’s cream will rise to the top by the end of the contest, together with the highest checkout.
Michael van Gerwen to beat Stephen Bunting and throw the highest checkout AND Stephen Bunting most 180s at 7/2 with bet365
Michael van Gerwen turned on the style in the second set against Gary Anderson of his opening round fixture, averaging an impressive 101 in brushing the Scot aside.
The “Green Machine” is slowly finding some of his best form on the oche again – he’s the 4/1 favourite for the Grand Prix crown with bet365, looking to add to his five titles here already.
Despite his dominance, the Dutchman can often fall short in 180 betting due to his willingness to move down to T19 and Stephen Bunting is a heavier enough scorer to punish him in the maximum column.
